Genshin Impact Raiden Shogun Build Guide: Artifacts, Weapons, and Teams

Guide

Sarah Jenkins

Raiden Shogun is a 5-star Electro polearm character whose value comes from three things: on-field Elemental Burst damage, teamwide Energy restoration, and coordinated Electro attacks plus Burst DMG buffs from her Elemental Skill. She can anchor classic Burst teams such as Raiden National and Raiden Hypercarry, or switch into a low-maintenance Hyperbloom trigger build in Dendro teams.

This guide covers her Burst DPS build, Hyperbloom build, best weapons, artifact stats, talent priority, team compositions, rotations, and constellation value.

Genshin Impact Raiden Shogun Build Guide: Artifacts, Weapons, and Teams

Raiden Shogun Build Overview

Item Burst DPS / Battery Build
Rarity 5-star
Element Electro
Weapon Polearm
Main Role On-field Burst DPS / Battery / Sub-DPS
Core Stats Energy Recharge, CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, ATK
Talent Priority Elemental Burst > Elemental Skill > Normal Attack
Best Artifact Set 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate
Sands Energy Recharge or ATK%
Goblet Electro DMG Bonus or ATK%
Circlet CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG
Key Substats CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG > Energy Recharge > ATK%
Suggested ER About 220% to 270% for most teams; higher is fine with her signature weapon

For a standard Burst DPS Raiden, 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate remains her most reliable set. Her ascension stat, passive talent, signature weapon, and team role all reward Energy Recharge. Once your rotation is smooth, improve CRIT and ATK rather than stacking Energy Recharge blindly.

Hyperbloom Raiden Overview

Item Hyperbloom Build
Main Role Off-field Electro trigger
Core Stat Elemental Mastery
Talent Priority Talent levels are not important; keep Elemental Skill active
Recommended Artifacts 4-piece Flower of Paradise Lost / 4-piece Gilded Dreams / 2+2 EM
Sands Elemental Mastery
Goblet Elemental Mastery
Circlet Elemental Mastery
Key Substats Elemental Mastery > comfort stats such as HP or ER
Recommended Weapons Dragon's Bane, Kitain Cross Spear, Moonpiercer, EM polearms

If Raiden is used only to trigger Hyperbloom, she barely needs CRIT, ATK, or high talent levels. Her job is to cast Elemental Skill and let its coordinated Electro hits trigger Dendro Cores. Hyperbloom damage mainly scales with character level and Elemental Mastery, so level 90 and high EM matter more than talent investment.

Genshin Impact Raiden Shogun Build Guide: Artifacts, Weapons, and Teams

Raiden's Elemental Skill creates the Eye of Stormy Judgment. When party members deal damage, it performs coordinated Electro attacks and increases Elemental Burst damage based on each character's Burst Energy cost. This makes her excellent with high-cost Burst characters such as Xiangling, Xingqiu, Yelan, and Kujou Sara.

Her Elemental Burst is the center of her kit. It deals strong AoE Electro damage, then puts Raiden into the Musou Isshin state. During this window, her attacks become Electro damage, count as Elemental Burst damage, and restore Energy to the whole party.

Talent Priority

Talent Recommended Level Importance
Elemental Burst: Secret Art: Musou Shinsetsu 9-10 Highest priority; main damage and Energy restoration
Elemental Skill: Transcendence: Baleful Omen 8-9 Coordinated Electro attacks and Burst DMG buff
Normal Attack: Origin 1-6 Lowest priority; Burst-state attacks use Burst talent scaling

Level Raiden's Elemental Burst first. Her main on-field damage during Musou Isshin scales from the Burst talent, not from her Normal Attack talent. Elemental Skill is second because it improves team Burst damage and coordinated attacks. Normal Attack can stay low unless you are fully investing for preference.

Best Weapons

Weapon Rarity Why It Works
Engulfing Lightning 5-star Signature weapon; gives Energy Recharge and converts ER into ATK
Staff of Homa 5-star Strong CRIT DMG and ATK value
Primordial Jade Winged-Spear 5-star High Base ATK, CRIT Rate, and stacking damage
Skyward Spine 5-star ER substat improves rotation comfort
The Catch 4-star Best free option; ER, Burst DMG, and Burst CRIT Rate
Wavebreaker's Fin 4-star Strong at high refinement in high-Energy teams
Deathmatch 4-star Easy CRIT Rate for balancing stats
Favonius Lance 4-star Rotation-focused option when the team needs more Energy

Engulfing Lightning is Raiden's best weapon because its ER and ATK conversion fit her kit perfectly. The Catch is the best free choice and is strong enough for Raiden National and most Spiral Abyss content.

For Hyperbloom Raiden, use EM weapons instead. Dragon's Bane, Kitain Cross Spear, Moonpiercer, or any EM polearm will usually outperform Burst-focused weapons in that role.

Artifacts and Stats

Set Recommendation Notes
4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate Best Converts Energy Recharge into Burst damage
2-piece Emblem + 2-piece ATK Temporary Good while farming
2-piece ATK + 2-piece Electro DMG Temporary Usable early-game option

For Burst DPS, use ER or ATK% Sands, Electro DMG or ATK% Goblet, and a CRIT Circlet. Prioritize CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, Energy Recharge, and ATK%. If the rotation feels bad, add ER first; if the rotation is stable, improve CRIT and ATK.

For Hyperbloom, use EM / EM / EM main stats. Flower of Paradise Lost has the highest dedicated reaction value, Gilded Dreams is very efficient, and 2+2 EM is a fast temporary setup.

Stat Targets

Build Suggested Target
Burst DPS without signature About 220% to 250% ER, with 60%+ CRIT Rate if possible
Burst DPS with signature About 250% to 280% ER, adjusted by team and artifacts
Raiden National Make sure Xiangling, Xingqiu, and Bennett can also Burst smoothly
Hyperbloom Level 90 and as much EM as possible; 800+ EM feels comfortable

These numbers are guidelines, not strict requirements. Weapon choices, Favonius triggers, enemy particles, and team rotations all change the Energy requirement.

Team Compositions

Raiden National

Slot Character
Electro Core Raiden Shogun
Pyro Sub-DPS Xiangling
Hydro Sub-DPS Xingqiu or Yelan
Buffer / Healer Bennett

Raiden National is one of her most accessible and reliable teams. Xiangling, Xingqiu, and Bennett provide huge value, while Raiden restores Energy, drives reactions, and deals Burst damage.

Basic rotation: Raiden Skill > Xingqiu Skill and Burst > Bennett Burst > Xiangling Burst inside Bennett's field > Raiden Burst and full on-field combo > refresh skills and repeat.

Raiden Hypercarry

Slot Character
Main DPS Raiden Shogun
Electro Buffer Kujou Sara, ideally C6
Swirl / Buff Kaedehara Kazuha
ATK Buff / Healer Bennett

This is one of Raiden's highest-ceiling direct-damage teams. It is strongest with high investment, especially C2 Raiden and C6 Sara. If your Raiden is C0 or Sara is not C6, Raiden National is often easier and more consistent.

Hyperbloom Raiden

Slot Character
Electro Trigger Raiden Shogun
Dendro Core Nahida, Dendro Traveler, Baizhu, Yaoyao
Hydro Application Xingqiu, Yelan, Kokomi, Furina
Survival / Flex Baizhu, Yaoyao, Kokomi, Zhongli

Hyperbloom Raiden is cheap, stable, and easy to play. Raiden casts Skill and leaves the field; Dendro and Hydro characters create Dendro Cores; Raiden's coordinated Electro attacks trigger Hyperbloom.

Rotation Tips

In Burst teams, let teammates set up first and let Raiden finish the rotation. Use Raiden Skill, cast teammate Skills and Bursts, then use Raiden Burst after Resolve has been built. During Musou Isshin, stay on field long enough to restore Energy for the next rotation.

In Hyperbloom teams, simply keep Raiden's Elemental Skill active. Apply Dendro, apply Hydro, create cores, and let Raiden trigger them from off-field.

Constellations

Constellation Value Notes
C0 Complete Full core kit is available
C1 Average Builds Resolve faster but is not a major breakpoint
C2 Excellent Ignores 60% enemy DEF during Burst state; major DPS spike
C3 High Adds Burst levels and improves main damage
C4 Medium Gives ATK to teammates after Raiden's Burst ends
C5 Low to Medium Skill level increase, less impactful than C2/C3
C6 Situational Reduces teammate Burst cooldowns, but not required for most teams

C0 Raiden is already complete. For most players, the best stopping points are C0 or C2. If you mainly play Hyperbloom, constellations matter much less; C0 is enough.

FAQ

Does Raiden need her signature weapon?

No. Engulfing Lightning is her best weapon, but The Catch is excellent and free.

Raiden National or Raiden Hypercarry?

Raiden National is easier for low-constellation accounts. Hypercarry has a higher ceiling with C2 Raiden, C6 Sara, Kazuha, and Bennett.

Can Raiden ignore Energy Recharge?

Not recommended for Burst DPS. Her damage, Energy restoration, and rotation flow are all tied to ER.

Does Hyperbloom Raiden need talent levels?

Not much. Hyperbloom damage mainly depends on Raiden's level and Elemental Mastery.

Summary

Raiden Shogun is powerful because she combines personal Burst damage with teamwide Energy support. For direct damage, use 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate with Engulfing Lightning or The Catch. For Hyperbloom, build full Elemental Mastery and keep Elemental Skill active. C0 is already strong, while C2 is the key damage upgrade for players who want to push her personal output.
